MeloTel’s Founder and CEO isn’t one to brag. But John Meloche is a multi-talented entrepreneur with an unmatched verve for life. Constantly coming up with ways to better his business, John is also the type of individual who never shies away from major life challenges. Over the past couple of years, he completely overhauled his well-being by shedding more than 100 pounds. Today, he is long and lean picture of health.
John also has an artistic side. Those who have followed his career know that he has released two Christmas albums and two hip-hop songs as a recording artist. Not one to consider himself a professional musician, John has long loved sharing his talents with the world. This past week, however, he released what is his most heartfelt and deeply personal musical project to date. “One Hit Wonder” is streaming everywhere now!
“One Hit Wonder” isn’t your average song.
Contrary to what the title of the song may connote, “One Hit Wonder” is a celebration about winning at life. Having experienced a tumultuous childhood, John decided he wanted to express his heartfelt gratitude to the people who turned his life around. In particular, the song is a dedication to his wife, Kathryn.
“‘One Hit Wonder’” is a true story,” reveals John, “The song is a reflection of hard times and a celebration good times with my wife and kids. I believe ‘One Hit Wonder’ resonates with people who have faced challenges, overcame them and became a better person in spite of them. I couldn’t have done it without my good friends, Dan Faraldo (writer) and T.J. Habibi (producer).”
John enlisted the help of veteran music makers.
Dan has been MeloTel’s Editor In Chief since the company’s inception nearly 14 years ago. The team’s resident content writer and blogger, Dan is better known in music circles as the hip-hop artist, Dan-e-o. To John, however, he is a long-time friend and collaborator. John’s previously-mentioned MeloTel raps were authored by Dan. But “One Hit Wonder” took a special type of (what rappers call) “pen game”.
“Although I’ve known John for over a decade and a half, I learned so much more about him writing this song,” shares Dan, “He sent me the story about his upbringing and I was kind of shocked. I knew the lyrics that I had to write for this song had to be on a much deeper level than his previous songs. John has a very deep love for his wife and family. ‘One Hit Wonder’ is so much more than a love song. It’s a ‘thank you for saving my life’ ode to his loved ones.”
“One Hit Wonder” is becoming a fast hit!
John would certainly love for the pop/rock meets country and R&B track to live up to its name. If it becomes a success on radio, he would be thrilled. However, he is quickly becoming aware of how much more important it is for the song to touch people’s hearts. A “hit” record is one that impacts listeners emotionally.
“I have been shocked by the positive feedback from my friends and family,” he shared, “I want to thank everyone who has reached out to me with their own stories. I have heard so many stories (I never knew) of others that closely relate to the lyrics. It seems it really hit home.”
