The MeloTel family is extremely proud and happy to announce the birth of Chantel and Mitchell’s son! Born at 4:10 p.m. on January 8, 2023, the bouncing baby boy weighed in at 8 pounds and 5 ounces. As of this writing, his name is yet to be determined. We are elated to reveal, however, that he is both happy and healthy.
Everyone, here at MeloTel, is overjoyed. We invite you to join us in congratulating our amazing Operations Manager, Chantel Cascanette and her partner, Mitchell Gillespie on the birth of their little bundle of joy. As we’ve often proclaimed, our team is so lucky to have Chantel as a member. We certainly miss her, now that she is on maternity leave. However, we are all thrilled at the fact that she has officially entered motherhood.
What was it like to have a baby on board?
“Having a baby on board is strange,” shared Chantel, back in August when we first made the announcement about her pregnancy, “I’d compare it to having a real, but also imaginary friend with you at the same time – all the time. And, as a repercussion, he makes your feet swell and manifests other odd symptoms along with it. Odd symptoms or not, we are very excited for this new chapter to unfold starting in the beginning of next year.”
The mid-summer announcement was made following a very unique gender reveal celebration held by the young couple. As we reported, both Chantel and Mitchell are avid golfers. They decided to reveal the gender of their baby in front of their loved ones in a very unique way. Mitchell cued up for a swing at a golf tee and wailed away on a ball. It exploded into blue dust! Naturally, their party’s guests were made aware that a baby boy was on the way.
How did MeloTel’s Founder and CEO react to the news?
MeloTel’s Founder and CEO, John Meloche is known to delve into his artistic side every now and again. Check out the single “One Hit Wonder” if you haven’t already. It’s streaming everywhere! After learning of Chantel’s pregnancy, John composed a poem to celebrate the impending birth of her and Mitchell’s baby boy.

“My friend Chantel Cascanette leaves MeloTel temporarily for a new adventure,” John posted on his Facebook page last month, “Having a baby! It’s bittersweet because (of) the void (we will feel) without her every day while she is away on maternity leave. But the law says! I blame Mitchell Gillespie. And I think they did officially agree to name the baby after me. Anyone wanna wish Chantel a happy last day at MeloTel for a while? Wishing you 3, a safe and joyous baby experience!”
