Right before Christmas, the MeloTel Blog unveiled “Special Holiday Wishes From The MeloTel Team”. Our ever-busy Founder and CEO, John Meloche was unable to send along his well wishes in time for the posting of the blog. However, we would like to share them with you today, as they were written on his Facebook page.
“I want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season,” John wrote on the 23rd of December, “I hope you take a moment and reflect with your loved ones, the precious value of life and all it has to offer. Look for joy in the smallest of things, help others and spread kind words. Be as jolly as you can be and spread cheer everywhere you go.”
Our holiday celebration didn’t go on as planned.
On the day of John’s Facebook post, the MeloTel team was to congregate at Toronto’s David Duncan House for dinner. John’s favourite restaurant has hosted many a special occasion in his life, including numerous MeloTel Christmas celebrations. Doubling as the company’s 13th anniversary party, the event on the 23rd of December was inevitably cancelled.
Sadly, the omicron variant of the coronavirus is spiking cases all throughout the world. For the health and safety of everyone on the MeloTel team and their loved ones, John decided the risk was not worth the reward. In lieu of hosting what would have been an amazing dinner and celebration, John shared the following words with his team via a Slack chat.
A message from MeloTel’s Founder and CEO.
I take a lot of pride in moving MeloTel to a virtual organization at the start of the pandemic. It’s amazing to me how technology has given us the ability to be productive together while working remotely. We get to see each other. But there is something to be said about actually being together in the same workspace. I am very much looking forward to the day that we are all working together in the real world again.
I was going to go into this long-winded motivational speech about all these new initiatives for 2022 coming up. Including Microsoft 365, LastPass, Endpoint Protection, DaFeeder and new telecom offering strategies, butI’ll save details about that for 1st quarter of 2022. Thank you for everything you do for MeloTel. Thank you for your trust in MeloTel. Thank you for sticking out this tough situation for us and for our customers.
Thank you for participating in building this company with me. I hope no matter how you spend time during the holiday, I hope you are not alone, you are not hungry, and you get time to connect with the people and reasons you must be alive and be happy. If not Merry Christmas, then Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to each of you. Stay safe and I hope you see you soon.
Thank you John!
On behalf of the entire MeloTel team, we would like to publicly thank our CEO, John Meloche for his continued incredible leadership. Our team can only be as strong as its leader. There is a clear reason why the MeloTel team is more than just a team…it is a family. On behalf of all of us, we wish everyone a very happy and prosperous new year. See you in 2022!
