As we’ve recently announced, the MeloTel team has been pretty busy these days. Although we are embarking on the first anniversary of living in a pandemic-burdened world, we’ve decided not to dwell on the glum side of things. Instead, we’re embracing our now-normal working-from-home lives and stepping things up as best we can online.
This year, we welcomed our new Web and Graphic Designer, Magali “Abbey” Godoy to the team. Abbey has come aboard as our resident social media expert. With her help, we’ve been seeing a lot more traction on all of our social media accounts.
Abbey, in fact, has created a brand new video entitled “We’re Still All In This Together – Just Working From Home”. You can check it out HERE on the brand new MeloTel YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe today! We’re still about 60 subscribers away from 100 which will enable us to give the channel its own unique URL. We’ve stepped things up on both Facebook and Twitter too. However, we’ve decided that it’s time we take things a little further.
MeloTel has just launched its TikTok account!
Check out the new MeloTel TikTok account! Over the past year or so, this new video-sharing social media platform has become all the rage. Although it was introduced by Chinese company, ByteDance in 2016, TikTok has recently found its place as one of today’s most-used apps.
The social networking service is used to make a variety of short-form videos. With TikTok, you can post videos with durations between fifteen seconds and one minute. Dance, comedy, education – you name it! There is a multitude of video styles you can share.

You’ll quickly notice that MeloTel’s Founder and CEO, John Meloche is having a lot of fun with TikTok already. He’s taken to the app to post a number of humorous videos that help to showcase his comedic side. In one video, he takes a phone call from himself! Clean-shaven John is the MeloTel customer service rep while bearded John is the customer.
Naturally, John utilized TikTok’s features to change the voices of each of his characters. He also used filters to change up their looks. The clean-shaven rep, for example, was made possible through the filter. He is also given an inflated jowl.
The two different appearances of John aren’t the only changes you’ll notice. The customer service provided by the MeloTel rep isn’t quite like what you would get in real life. Although the rep provides ample and accurate information about the services provided by MeloTel, he does embellish a little bit. We’re hope you get a kick out of the exchange!

The first post on the MeloTel TikTok account features John in a video where he tries out a filter used to find his doppelganger. Can you guess who the social media app chose as John’s supposed twin? Click HERE to find out!
