Welcome to the first MeloTel blog post of 2020! Not only have we embarked on a brand new year, but we’re elated to be operating in our third straight decade! It’s sort of an interesting milestone for a company that’s been operational for 11 years. Yes, this past weekend, MeloTel quietly celebrated its 11th anniversary. Officially launching on January 4th, 2009, our company is now an 11 year-old!
And while the milestone may not necessarily be as alluring as one that ends in a zero or a five, we’re pretty excited about the fact that, since its 2020, MeloTel can now boast to have been providing cloud-hosted services in three different decades. It’s a tongue-in-cheek benefit, we suppose, to having launched our business at the end of a decade. However, if that’s not cool enough for you, there is still a lot to be said about being in business for 11 years.
11 is a master number.
In numerology, which is a belief in a divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events, the number 11 is a considered a Master number. A Master number is a double-digit number which also comes from a single root number. In addition to number 11, the numbers 22 and 33 are Master numbers.
“These three Master numbers have profoundly powerful meanings,” explains Hans Decoz on Numerology.com, “But Master numbers are often not well understood…They give you insight into obstacles by calling upon your patience and maturity — and a lot of effort — to peacefully integrate these elements into your personality. If you, personally, can master these Master numbers in your chart, however, they can be the most powerful, productive numbers of all.”
There are many fun facts about the number 11.
If the whole numerology thing doesn’t do much for you, let’s consider some of the cool things about the number 11 that we can all relate to. We’re all aware of who made the number 99 popular in sports. “The Great One” Wayne Gretzky was honoured with having the number retired from the NHL after his incomparable career came to an end in – of course – 1999. But throughout Gretzky’s hey day on the Edmonton Oilers, his right-hand man was another very popular Hall of Famer – Mark Messier. You guessed it, #11.
Canadian sports fans may also remember George Bell as becoming the first-ever American League MVP to play for the Toronto Blue Jays when he earned the accolade back in 1987. He wore number 11. But we don’t have to stick to sports in order for number 11 to be cool. Nelson Mandela was released from prison on February 11, 1990 and went on to become the 11th president of South Africa in 1994. How cool is that?
