Are you prepared in the event you need to send your employees home because of COVID-19?
You likely won’t be surprised to learn that the MeloTel team has been receiving a number of calls from clients who are interested in finding ways to get their employees to work from home. In order to assist all our customers, in their disaster preparedness plans related to COVID-19, we are making specific products readily available in anticipation of the higher demand.
As we made clear in our last blog, MeloTel’s cloud-hosted Commercial Phone Services allow your employees to easily work from remote locations. Thanks to VoIP technology, our phone services will let your staff members make and take calls from any location, no differently than if they were sitting at their desks in your office. With VoIP, no landlines are necessary – only a connection to the internet and a receiver!
Do you need phones for your home?
The first and most sensible option for getting your employees to work from home is to equip them with desk phones. At MeloTel, we provide solutions that allow for your workers’ devices to be registered at home. We do this by permitting their IP addresses on our network. To begin working from home, they will require AC Power Adapters. They may also need to open some ports on their routers if they need to call support for assistance.
Your employees can also take advantage of Cloud Softphone. This is a free app that works on both iPhones and Android devices. With it, your employees can have their own extensions registered so that their smartphones can be used to make and receive calls just as if they were at their desks. All that is needed is a Wi-Fi or LTE network. If you would like us to send our employee their Cloud Softphone Registration, please contact support and request it.
