Half of Canadians expect to return to the office regularly in 2022.
As reported by Darrel Bricker of Ipsos, only half of Canadians who are currently working from home say they expect to return to the office regularly in 2022. The new Ipsos poll was conducted on behalf of Global News. It asked working Canadians about their experiences in 2021 and what their expectations and feelings were about 2022.
Bricker reports that 64% of working Canadians agree that they achieved a better work-life balance in 2021. As well, 88% of the respondents agree that they have enjoyed working from home more often in 2021. And while 58% agree that they miss being with their colleagues in person, only 44% agree that they want to return to the office on a regular basis in 2022.
Business owners need to focus on a combination of health and productivity.

“Part of it seems to be concern about safety, but an increasing part of it — and this is the really interesting finding here — is about a preference,” Bricker is quoted as saying, “It’s no longer about ‘I’m not going to go back to the office because I don’t think it’s safe.’ It’s ‘I’m not going to go back to the office because I feel like I actually prefer to work at home.’”
