Can you believe that Christmas Day is only five days away? We imagine that you’re getting pretty excited. If you’re anything like the members of the MeloTel team, you can’t wait! We’re also just two days away from the MeloTel holiday dinner. It will double as our company’s 14th anniversary party. It all does down at our Founder and CEO, John Meloche’s favourite restaurant, David Duncan House (more on them later).
Here is a reminder of MeloTel’s holiday schedule.
As mentioned, MeloTel’s holiday dinner takes place on Thursday, December 22nd. That is when our company’s holiday schedule will officially begin. As you may be aware, our regular business hours are weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. This Thursday, however, we will close early at 3:00 p.m. to prepare for the company party. We will remain closed throughout the holiday weekend and re-open with regular working hours on Wednesday, December 27th.
MeloTel will close again on Friday, December 30th to prepare for the welcoming of 2023. We will remain closed during that holiday weekend and re-open on Monday, January 2nd. At that point, our regular business hours will resume.
We’re excited to revisit David Duncan House!
So, did we mention that David Duncan House is John’s favourite restaurant? In addition to hosting every MeloTel holiday dinner, this fine establishment also happens to be where John proposed to his wife, Kathryn many years ago.
“The night before Valentine’s Day, I arranged 12 red and pink roses, a big teddy bear, chocolates, a card and a 32 inch widescreen television,” John recalls, “Also, we had planned for the next evening to go to The David Duncan House for what tends to be a pretty amazing evening. I wanted to make her think it would be impossible for me to ALSO plan a proposal.” But planning a proposal was exactly what John was doing!

Nestled within 4.25 acres of land in North York, this exquisite restaurant lets guests enjoy some of the most delicious food served in the entire city of Toronto. Patrons can choose to dine on either their scenic outdoor patio with a bar during warmer parts of the year or inside the restored Gothic Victorian inspired dining space. David Duncan House also boasts a custom oyster bar and a temperature-controlled wine display with hand-selected wine from around the world.
