Last week was a very bittersweet one for the entire MeloTel team. Our wonderful and much beloved Operations Manager, Chantel Cascanette officially began her maternity leave. Back in August, we announced that Chantel and her partner, Mitchell were expecting a baby boy who is due on the 3rd of January. As we prepare to enter a new year, we know that Chantel and Mitchell are preparing to have their lives changed forever.
We couldn’t be happier for the beautiful couple! On behalf of everyone at MeloTel, we wish Chantel and Mitchell a very joyous start to parenthood. We have to admit that we will certainly miss Chantel during the time she is away. Not enough can be said about how invaluable she is to the MeloTel team.
MeloTel CEO John Meloche took to Facebook to tribute Chantel.
“My friend Chantel Cascanette leaves MeloTel temporarily for a new adventure,” he posted last week, “Having a baby! It’s bittersweet because (of) the void (we will feel) without her every day while she is away on maternity leave. But the law says! I blame Mitchell Gillespie. And I think they did officially agree to name the baby after me. Anyone wanna wish Chantel a happy last day at MeloTel for a while? Wishing you 3, a safe and joyous baby experience!”
John is known for his humour. In our August announcement, we revealed that he had gone ahead and nicknamed Chantel and Mitchell’s son “Baby MeloTelo”. We’re certain the couple has or will select a much more appropriate name. We can’t wait to meet the little guy!
MeloTel loves Chantel.
Just in case we haven’t already made it clear, the MeloTel team wouldn’t know what to do without Chantel. Over the years, we have dedicated many a blog to just how great a co-worker and family member she is. Back in April, we honoured Chantel on Administrative Professionals Day.
“We say the following without hyperbole,” read our blog, “We simply couldn’t function without Chantel! She is as efficient, organized and reliable as they come…She’s also the friendliest person you could ever meet. It’s one thing to be eternally dependable. Our team can always trust Chantel to keep the company running like a well-oiled machine. But the positive energy that Chantel brings to work every day is something that makes being her co-worker an unparalleled experience. She’s just the best! Creating smiles is definitely a specialty of hers.”
Chantel remains our MVP.
Back in June of 2019, we officially declared Chantel as MeloTel’s MVP. “Today, I would like to pay homage to Chantel Cascanette,” John wrote, “She is MeloTel Business Phone Company’s MVP! She came to MeloTel more than 2 years ago and has so quickly transformed into being one of my most valued team members. I couldn’t picture MeloTel without her and I am extremely lucky to have her on my team! Thank you Chantel Cascanette, truly! Note: Now, I was not hacked!”
